Choose the partnership,
not just the pitch.
A useful first conversation starts with the work you want to delegate and the decisions you want to keep.
Start with your actual workload
List the recurring work taking time away from creating: fan messages, publishing, social channels, content planning or protection. Compare agencies against those specific tasks rather than the number of services on a homepage.
Ask for a written scope and fee calculation
Ask what is included, what costs extra, and how commission is calculated. Clarify whether the percentage applies before or after platform fees and whether it includes existing revenue. Compare proposals using the same assumptions.
Set account and content boundaries
Agree who can access accounts, who controls payouts, which content needs approval, and how messages should reflect your voice. The conversation should make space for your boundaries and a clear process for changing them.
Understand the exit before the start
Ask for the term, notice process, access handover and handling of content when the relationship ends. Keep a copy of the agreement and the scope you accepted.
Bring a shortlist, not a commitment
Talk to more than one team. Ask how they would approach your situation, who would work with you and how progress would be discussed. Our quiz gives you three starting points and an introduction brief.
